Come experience the power of sound and leave feeling refreshed, inspired, and restored.

What is a Sound Bath?

A sound bath is a deeply relaxing and immersive experience where you're 'bathed' in the healing vibrations of sound. Using instruments like quartz crystal bowls, gongs, drums and chimes, the sound waves wash over you and gently guide your mind and body into a calm, meditative state. You don't need to do anything – simply lie down, close your eyes, and allow the sounds to move through you.

What does a Sound Bath feel like?

Every sound bath is a personal and unique experience – and no two sessions ever feel quite the same. Some people drift into deep relaxation, others fall asleep completely, and some enter a meditative or trance-like state where they experience vivid inner worlds.

You might feel:

  • Deep relaxation as your body softens and your breath slows down

  • A gentle floating or drifting sensation, as if you're half asleep

  • Tingling, warmth or subtle energy moving through the body

  • A sense of peace, clarity or emotional release

  • Visuals behind your eyes – colours, shapes, lights or scenes

  • Sudden ideas, insights or creative inspiration bubbling up

  • Memories, emotions or images that arise spontaneously

  • Or simply a quiet, nourishing rest where you lose track of time

Some people describe it as being somewhere between dreaming and meditation – awake but deeply detached from everyday thoughts. You don't need to 'achieve' anything in a sound bath. Your mind and body will respond in whatever way they need in that moment. There is no right or wrong way to experience it. Most importantly, sound baths are a space to surrender. To pause. To reconnect with yourself.

Why Sound Baths Work

Sound has been used for centuries in healing practices across cultures. The vibrations from certain instruments can help calm the nervous system, slow the heart rate, and bring your brainwaves into a more relaxed state. This can create the perfect conditions for stress release, emotional processing, clarity of thought, and deep rest.

Many people find that sound baths help them:

  • Let go of tension or anxiety

  • Feel more grounded and centred

  • Access creative or reflective states

  • Connect more deeply with their thoughts and feelings

  • Improve sleep or focus

Whether you're coming to simply relax, or you're working through something more personal or emotional, sound can be a powerful and non-invasive way to support your wellbeing.

If You're New to Sound Baths

If you've never been to a sound bath before – don't worry, no experience is needed! Just wear something comfortable. We have mats, warm blankets and pillows for you. We even have eye-masks if you would like to use them. You'll be invited to lie down or sit in a relaxed position for the duration of the session (usually 45-60 minutes), and you'll be guided into the experience gently.

There's no talking or participation needed – just space to rest, reflect, or simply be.

How often can I attend Sound Baths?

There's no limit to how often you can attend sound baths – it's entirely up to you and what you feel your mind and body need. Some people come weekly as part of their self-care routine, others pop in when they feel overwhelmed, stressed, creatively blocked, or simply in need of deep rest.

Think of sound baths as a reset for your nervous system – a chance to pause, breathe, and reconnect with yourself. Just like meditation or gentle movement, they can become a regular and nourishing part of your wellbeing.

We currently offer sessions on Sundays, Mondays and Wednesdays, so you're welcome to join us as often as feels right for you. Whether it's a once-in-a-while treat or a weekly ritual, you'll always be met with a calm, supportive space to unwind and just be.

Things to Consider Before Attending

Sound baths are generally safe and beneficial for most people, but there are a few things to keep in mind:

  • Epilepsy or sound-triggered seizures: Please speak to your healthcare provider before attending, as certain frequencies may trigger symptoms for some people.

  • Severe tinnitus or sensitivity to sound: If you're highly sensitive to sound or prone to discomfort, let me know in advance so we can support you with adjustments or positioning.

  • Pregnancy: Many people find sound baths nurturing during pregnancy, but if you're in your first trimester or have a high-risk pregnancy, check with your midwife or doctor first.

  • Mental health and trauma: Sound baths can sometimes bring up emotions or memories. If you're in a period of acute distress, speak with us before the session so we can advise you.

  • Implants, pacemakers and surgical stitches: If you have a pacemaker, surgical implants, recent wounds, or stitches, please let us know in advance. Sounds, frequencies, and vibration from our instruments can sometimes affect sensitive areas of the body - and you may need to get advice from your healthcare provider before attending.

  • The Sound Bath Studio is only accessible by stairs, and the building unfortunately does not have a lift for people with mobility needs.

If you're ever unsure, just drop us a message – we are happy to talk things through with you.
